21.3 cm. (binding 22 cm. = 8˝ inches tall). VIII, [1]-374 pages, collated and evidently complete.

Original dark brown blind-stamped cloth with gilt-decorated spine. All edges of text block marbled. Front board expertly reattached and spine caps replaced.

Internally fine and clean but for an unobtrusive light dampstain line running nearly adjacent to the fore-edge of the text through most of the book. A very good and attractive copy.

NOT IN FLAKE;  presumably very rare and unrecorded in Mormon bibliographies. First published in London, 1855, this classic anti-Mormon potboiler was quickly translated and published in several foreign languages: Danish, 1855-6; French, 1856; German, 1856; Swedish, 1857, and as we now see here, in Hungarian, 1858.  See Flake 9585-92 for the non-English editions except for the one now discovered here.
